9. Stream of Consciousness – Part 3

9.1. Processes and systems have always exerted a fascination on me. Discovering, understanding and reviewing them is a passion of mine. There is pleasure and satisfaction in understanding and appreciating. I guess what is attractive to me is the “intelligence” of the the process or system.

9.2. On one side there is the satisfaction of understanding how the different parts have been put together, their role and function, the way they are interacting together.

9.3. On another side there is the overall picture, the gestalt, the act of embracing everything to understand the whole. From the pulse of the single part rising up to listen to the pulse of the collective.

9.4. On one side the analytical, left side of the brain, on the other the embracing, encompassing right side of the brain. All working together to help with the grasping and appreciation.

9.5. The thing is the system possesses an intelligence of its own, which is the transmutation of the intelligence of the single parts. I call it “transmutation” for its ability of not only making use of the specific function of the parts, but also of other hidden, not implicit things like the interaction and the dynamics between them. This is an alchemical recipe of sorts leading to unexpected and interesting results.

9.6. This explains, at least in part, my current focus on the “Stream of Consciousness”, as it is an insight, clear and unfiltered, on the process to produce some art work.

9.7. It is an introspection but also, hopefully, the access to an indicator of other hidden truths.
