5.1. These are two works by Taerzius from 2013 and are a token of gratitude and celebration. The works were conceived as part of the same project, titled Ancestral Land. The original size of the works is A2.
5.2. On one level they represent the feminine and masculine energies at the basis of our Universe, the baseline primordial polarity shaping things.
5.3. The masculine energy is embodied by the Raven animal. More than a father figure here we have a brother, a travelling companion, a friend. But also somebody that is more advanced and superior, somebody with a higher direct knowledge, capable of a practical application of this knowledge and awareness.
5.4. The Raven is painted here with broken strokes to represent raw, furious energy. There are two Ravens, one black and one white, dancing around a flaming sun, their eyes are Moons.
5.5. The feminine energy is embodied by the Kangaroo Animal. Like a mother figure, a nurturer of life, a carer. Her curvy lines reach out and embrace the World, a supreme sign of empathy and unconditional love, of an encompassing awareness.
5.6. The Kangaroo is painted here with a continuous line, smooth and soft, embracing. The Kangaroo’s body is transparent and stars can be seen through it. The Moon is in the Animal’s pouch, kept and cared for like an off-spring.
5.7. On another level the two works mirror the works of our brain as in the capabilities of the left side of the brain (the logical and analytical) snd the right side (the creative and artistic). They also mirror the Second and Third spheres of the Tree of Life, wisdom and Understanding.
5.8. These two works are a homage, the artist’s reflection on life and its fragility, and at the same time at its strength and beauty which is expressed through love, caring, sharing and looking after each other no matter what our destiny or purpose is. The reaching out across dimensions and planes to help a personal and collective fulfillment.
